Learn more about Schelvin D. Robinson

My Background

A truly versatile musician, Schelvin Robinson has performed in a variety of
musical genres. He performed with The Big Bend Community Orchestra,
Florida Music Educators Association Intercollegiate Band, and the HBCU
Intercollegiate Consortium Band. Demonstrating his abilities in popular music,
Mr. Robinson performed for the 2006 Grammy Awards and three Super Bowls.
In addition, he played two European tours with singer Cody Chesnutt.

Schelvin D. Robinson, a native of Miami, is a graduate of Florida A&M
University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education degree. During his
undergraduate tenure, Mr. Robinson performed with the Florida A&M
University Wind Ensemble, Trumpet Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Jazz Band,
and the “Marching 100.” Futhermore, Mr. Robinson played with various
Church Community Bands and was a featured soloist with the Big Bend
Community Orchestra.

Education

Mr. Robinson is a proud alumnus of Florida A&M University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Music Education degree, and the University of Florida, where he obtained his Master of Music in Trumpet Performance degree. He is pursuing a Doctor of Music degree at Florida State University.

Performance

Mr. Robinson has performed as a featured soloist in notable concerts such as the Southeastern Trumpet Festival, Broward College Symphonic Band and Florida State University Concert Band. He is most proud of performing on The Cody Chestnutt Band’s “Landing on a Hundred” International Tour from 2010 –2012, along with their album recording at Royal Studios in Memphis,Tennessee and SuPow Studios in Cologne, Germany. Moreover, Mr. Robinosn was the featured soloist and lead trumpet for the homegoing service of Senator Carrie Meeks.

Beyond

Schelvin is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc, Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society, Phi Mu Alpha National Music Fraternity of America, Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Education, and International
Trumpet Guild. Mr. Robinson’s principal teachers include Dr. Christopher Moore, Dr. Joyce Davis, and Dr. Longineu Parsons
